THE DESIGN PROCESS
Desolation standup paddleboards are designed by leading naval architects on the San Francisco Bay. These naval architects have a strong background in design, further enhancing the performance & stability of our boards. We offer a model for every purpose and experience level from racing, touring, exploration, surfing & cruising.
We construct our standup paddleboards with one select group of materials that offer the best strength to weight ratio available.
All Desolation standup paddleboards are constructed over closed cell EPS foam, using a sandwich laminate of carbon fiber & innegra cloth. Carbon fiber helps make our boards lightweight & torsionally very strong while innegra keeps them durable.
No materials in our construction are prone to breaking down or delaminating over time, unlike the lower quality fiberglass & wood that our competitors use. This eliminates soft spots, cracking, leaks & delamination while increasing overall performance.

OUR BOARDS ARE REINFORCED WHERE OTHERS ARE NOT
All Desolation SUP boards have carbon fiber reinforced rail sections, standing area’s, fin boxes and leash plugs so you never have to worry about soft spots and impact.
ONLY THE BEST COMPONENTS ARE USED
Desolation SUP boards come equipped with our signature easy grip/non slip handle to ensure that transporting your board is simple. On our wider boards, we have installed the handle at an off-set to make carrying your board a breeze. To top it off, our boards come with lightweight EVA deck pads that are preinstalled along with self breathing vent plugs. All of our SUP boards come complete with premium FCS SUP fins constructed of lightweight & durable G10.

Shipping is free on all orders delivering within the contiguous USA. Your order will deliver quickly to your door at your convenience. You can learn more about how shipping works farther down this page. For orders delivering to Hawaii or Alaska, a $100 charge will automatically be added at checkout to cover the additional freight cost. For International orders, please call us at (800) 383-1430.
Free Returns (For website sales only)
If, for any reason, you are not completely satisfied with the item that you purchased, you may return the item free of charge for a full refund. Learn more about our return policy by clicking here.
HOW DELIVERY WORKS (For website sales only)
We ship ground freight direct from our warehouse facilities in Southern California and Houston, Texas. It usually takes us a day to finalize your board and ship it, then transit times vary dependent on your requested delivery location. See below for some transit times. Upon your order being finalized, our freight partners will be in contact with you to coordinate delivery.
During the holidays, it can take around a week to receive your boards.
After processing, here are some average transit times, in business days to specific cities:
Los Angeles: 1 day
San Diego: 1 day
San Francisco: 2 days
Portland: 3 days
Seattle: 3 days
Denver: 3 days
Houston: 1 day
Chicago: 2 days
Miami: 2 days
New York City: 4 days

HOW TO MAINTAIN YOUR DESOLATION SUP BOARD
Desolation Standup Paddleboards require very little attention...
*After every use, wash it with fresh water.
*Do not store them in the sun for long periods of time. If storing your Desolation SUP in the sun is necessary, store the board in a proper board bag with a heat reflective exterior.
Making A Return (For Website Sales Only)
For Website Sales Only Make sure the item you are returning is in its original packaging, (e.g., paddle box). Once you have prepared your return for pick up, please reach out to our warranty & returns department at (800) 383-1430 or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Once we have been notified of your return, we will contact you to coordinate a pickup time that works with your schedule.
It may take 4-5 business days for your return to reach the Desolation Outdoors Fulfillment Center. Once it is received and inspected (usually within 24 hours of receipt), your refund will be processed and automatically applied to your credit card or original method of payment within 7 days.
Please note that depending on your credit card company, it may take an additional 2-10 business days after your credit card is applied for it to post to your account.
Making A Warranty Claim
For Purchases Made At Dealers Please return the damaged items to the dealer you purchased them from. Once you have arrived, your dealer will assess the damaged item and will submit a description and pictures of the damaged area to Desolation Outdoors. Desolation Outdoors will respond quickly and any damaged products covered under warranty will be replaced by Desolation Outdoors.
For Website Sales Only If you think you have a warranted issue, please contact us immediately. Provide us with pictures of the problem area along with a description as to how it happened and a copy of your original sales receipt. We will either repair or replace your warranted item. In the event the item is no longer stocked, we will replace it with a similar-updated model.
Overall, we are fully committed to customer satisfaction and are going to make warranty issues quick, painless and easy to get you back out on the water quickly.
